New Inn Lane Nurseries

Here you'll find a selection of FAQs about us, our products and how you can get the most out of your garden, all year round...

About Us:

Why choose New Inn Lane Nurseries?

We are a small family business, now in our third generation, specialising in summer hanging baskets and plants, established for over 45 years. Our plants are traditionally grown and looked after on the nursery.

Why are we currently online only and the nursery not open?

For the safety of everyone during the COVID-19 pandemic, we are keeping the nursery closed and selling our items online.

Online Ordering:

Will the plants sent be as good as if I chose them myself?

Of course! All of our plants are well looked after from the moment they are pricked out to the moment they leave the nursery. We ensure all plants sent are of our highest quality.

Is everything available online?

Our full selection of plants are online and our stock is monitored, meaning what you order is what you will receive! On the odd occasion we may need to substitute an item, for whatever reason, we will contact you to check you're happy with the swap, or offer a full refund for the item.

What delivery options are there?

Delivery: As we are a small independent nursery we can only offer a local delivery service, within an approximate 15 mile radius of our nursery. This includes Salford Priors, Harvington, the Lenches, Inkberrow, Alcester, Bidford on Avon, Welford on Avon, Stratford upon Avon, Evesham, Broadway, Pershore and outskirts of Worcester.

Click + Collect: We also offer Click + Collect, this option can be chosen at checkout. We will contact you when your order is ready for collection.

Is there a minimum spend?

For delivery, there is a minimum online spend of £20.
For Click + Collect orders there is no minimum spend.

Winter:

Should I choose Pansies or Violas?

Why not have both?! Pansies are more traditional, with larger flowers whereas violas are more compact and have much smaller flowers. Either way, both offer great colour over winter and last through to spring and early summer.

Summer:

When do I need to order my Hanging Baskets?

For us to make up hanging baskets to your requirements, you need to place your order anytime from March to mid-April.

How do I order Hanging Baskets?

You can drop your empty hanging baskets off to us at the nursery to be refilled. Or, you can email or call us to make an order for new hanging baskets.

When are Hanging Baskets ready for collection?

Hanging baskets are ready from mid-end May and need to be collected by the beginning of June.

What's the best way to look after my Hanging Baskets?

We recommend watering your hanging baskets at least once a day, either first thing in the morning or later in the evening, when it's cooler. On very hot sunny days, watering both in the morning and the evening is recommended, again when its cooler. Feed your hanging baskets every 1-2 weeks, with a feed such as Tomorite or Miracle Gro. Continue to deadhead the flowers from the stem as they come to an end; this will encourage continual, non-stop flowers all summer long and into the Autumn.

When is it safe to plant out Summer Plants?

We recommend it's safe to plant out from Spring Bank Holiday. If you're planting before, keep an eye on the forecast as it's still possible we may get a chilly night and plants will need to be protected.

Watering

Water when it's cooler, either first thing in the morning, or later in the evening, adding feed every 1-2 weeks. Where possible, water at the bottom to avoid getting too much water on the leaves, particularly begonias, as the heat from the sun can scorch them.
